Newton County Jail

INMATE VISITATION:

Please be advised that our inmate visitation schedule has changed.  Beginning on January 1, 2020, you will be able to visit with inmates at the Newton County Jail, by phone or online.  It is suggested that you create an account to streamline your visiting experience.  Go to www.homeWAV.com to learn more about using our new inmate visitation options and how to get started.  A mobile app is also available for your convenience. 

For visits at the Newton County Jail, by phone and online, visitors MUST register at least 24 hours in advance.  All visits will be limited to 30 minutes.  All visitors will be required to show identification in order to visit with inmates. 

The times for visits at the Newton County Jail will be Monday through Friday, from 8:30 AM – 11:00 AM and 12:00 PM through 3:30 PM.  On site visits will remain limited to 1 visit per week.  No person under the age of 18 will be permitted to visit without a parent or guardian present.

BONDING:

Bonds must be paid at the Newton County Courthouse during normal business hours, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.  After hours, weekends or holidays, bonds can be paid in the Sheriff’s Office Jail lobby.

Bonding options include cash, credit card or pay online at www.govpaynow.com.  Personal checks will not be accepted.

CLOTHING:

Upon incarceration into the Newton County Jail, inmates will be allowed to have the following items brought into the jail; (3) pairs of socks, (3) pairs of underwear (3) T-shirts and (1) pair of tennis shoes (Velcro straps brand).  All clothing, including shoes, must be solid white in color, new, and in their original sealed package.

COMMISSARY:

Money may be dropped off for an inmate only when a lobby receptionist is on duty or during visitation hours.  Money must be in the form of a MONEY ORDER.
